G21 Priority Projects ready for presentation to IDC
The Top Ten priority projects arising from the G21 Geelong Region Plan have been approved by the G21 Pillars, Board and Local Members in preparation for formal presentation to the Victorian Government's G21 Interdepartmental Committee in October. Projects include: Princes Hwy West Upgrade, Cultural Precinct, Convention & Exhibition Centre, Tourism Trails, Water Security Program, Climate Change Impact Management Program, Career and Skills Service, Public Transport Program, Harbour and Marina Network, Regional Marketing Program. G21 Affordable Housing Forum attracts State and Federal Ministers
The lack of affordable, accessible and diverse housing options was identified as a significant issue in the G21 Geelong Region Plan. Increasing property values in coastal towns (such as Lorne) are creating a difficult situation for working families and those on fixed incomes. (MORE)
