A key element of the planning approach adopted by G21 is to draw together through dialogue, groups of people into ten conceptual themes - known as 'Pillars'.
The Pillars listed to the left reflect the elements that collectively make our region 'great'.
Over time, the Pillars have evolved and amalgamated, particularly in response to the Continuous Improvement Process
instigated upon the release of the G21 Geelong Region Plan - a sustainable growth strategy
(2007).
There are currently eight G21 pillars. Links for information on pillar activities, projects, meetings and objectives are available via the links in the left hand column of this page.
Previous activities of the Pillars, including projects identified in the G21 Region Strategic Plan (2003) can be reviewed in the G21 Region Report 2005 .
