The Sport and Recreation Pillar Group is comprised of representatives of each local government area, community organisations and youth, education and tourism/events sectors.  The group meets on a regular basis to address the further implementation of the Sport and Recreation Strategy. 

At the June 2004 meeting of the Pillar Group it was decided that the Pillar Group membership should be broadened to incorporate representatives from regionally focussed sport and recreation organisations.  In order to facilitate the process a number of strategies have been put in place to communicate this opportunity to potential organisations.
