Come hear my oration, my great celebration
Of people who stood up and said:
"There's no-one so blind as the folks left behind
For the want of 'em thinkin' ahead.
So we'll gather up questions, advice and suggestions
From everyone under the sun,
And build us a nifty 2050
With G21."
So they sent out thier minions to harvest opinions
The swift and the smart and the strong
From Colac to Lorne to the Ponds of the Waurn
And the City of Greater Geelong
They picked Bellarine brains and the great Golden Plains
They collected ideas by the ton
To harness cohesion and rev up the region
Of G21.
Then with grace and precision and vision and taste
They'd shape and they'd cut and they'd copy and paste
Until every objective was perfectly placed
And perched on the verge of their dream...
(- yes, just like their team...)
So you see, this event is sublime and momentous
It marks both an end and a start
And a pathway for some, be they mayor or Brumby,
To hitch themselves up to the cart.
It's a blueprint, a tract and a challenge to act,
And the century's barely begun;
A sustainable plan for the region at hand
From G21.
