How the projects are prioritised

Expertise and experience of the G21 Pillars is called upon to assist in the development, endorsement, advocacy and implementation of regional projects. As the strategic value of projects varies, prioritisation is required to assess where resources may be best invested. Priority rating is a collaborative process applied by the G21 Pillars and Board and is established against criteria including:

  • Social, environmental and economic benefits
  • Strategic alignment with objectives and policies of the G21 Geelong Region Plan
  • Leadership and human resources
  • Likelihood of funding.

The eight G21 Pillars continually identify priority projects to be endorsed and supported by the G21 Board. These projects are recognised as G21 Priority Projects and become the key focus of G21’s activities.
