Heales Road named a G21 Priority Project
Following a presentation at September's G21 Board meeting, the G21 Board voted to include the Heales Road Industrial Estate (HRIE) Network Infrastructure as a G21 Priority Project, to be presented for the consideration of State and Federal Government support in coming weeks and months.

The Heales Road Industrial Estate (HRIE) is the largest industrial precinct in the Geelong Region (land area approx 500ha). It is the region’s primary location for large, value adding manufacturing operations. The estate offers direct accessibility to the Geelong Ring Road, Princes Freeway, major rail lines, Avalon Airport and the Geelong Port. It is considered by G21 and the State Government to be of State significance. At full development, the estate is forecast to accommodate more than 10,000 jobs.

To facilitate intensive and sustainable development of the HRIE, delivery of the required main road and drainage infrastructure is required. The cost of rebuilding of Heales Road to required industrial precinct standards is estimated to be between $2 -5 million. Primary road and drainage infrastructure to service the entire HRIE will require the investment of $85 million.
