| IDC respond to Priority Projects |
|
On January 4, 2010 G21 received advice that the formal review of the G21 Priority Projects for 2009/2010 had been completed by the State Government’s G21 Interdepartmental Committee (IDC). The response follows a presentation made on behalf of the G21 region on October 30 by G21 representatives Stephen Griffin, CEO of the City of Greater Geelong, Rob Small, CEO of Colac Otway Shire, Andrew Scott, CEO of G21 and Ed Coppe, G21 Chairperson. In a detailed response, Justin Hanney, Chief Executive of Regional Development Victoria and Deputy Chair of the G21 IDC stated that all priorities had been noted, and where appropriate, will inform internal Departmental processes. State Government contacts have been assigned to each of the Priority Projects and IDC responses to each project requirement are included in the document. It was also noted that the priorities will inform the current state-wide Regional Strategic Planning Initiative (RSPI). G21 will work closely with the assigned State government contacts during 2010 to progress the projects. The IDC is chaired by Professor Peter Dawkins, Secretary of the Dept of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) and includes senior representatives from Victorian Government agencies including Regional Development Victoria (RDV), the Dept of Planning & Community Development (DPCD), the Dept of Primary Industries (DPI), the Dept of Sustainability & Environment (DSE), the Dept of Transport (DOT), the Dept of Premier & Cabinet (DPC), the Dept of Justice (DOJ) and Skills Victoria.
