New noise walls for Geelong Ring Road at Wandana Heights

Member for South Barwon, Andrew Katos today (15 December 2011) announced that a contract to construct noise walls on the Geelong Ring Road at Wandana Heights had been awarded to Trade West Pty Ltd.

“The three metre high, 900 metre long noise wall will be installed on the east side of the Geelong Ring Road near Sunderland Road,” Mr Katos said.

“This section will be constructed from weathered steel and coloured acrylic panels, consistent with the rest of the 23 kilometres of freeway.

“With the Coalition Government delivery on its $3 million commitment, residents in Wandana Heights will no doubt welcome the reduction in traffic noise,” Mr Katos said.

Construction for the noise walls is expected to commence early in 2012 and be completed in about six months.
