The next stage of Colac’s Central Reserve redevelopment looks set to go ahead thanks to a $375,164 Community Sport Infrastructure Fund grant.

The funding will provide new netball courts and competition lighting for both the netball courts and football oval.

The upgrade of Central Reserve is an element of the G21’s Addressing Disadvantage Priority Project, which recognises upgraded facilities can tackle obesity, community health and wellbeing and depression.

The proposed upgrade will ensure the Colac Tigers’ home courts meet standards, which is a vital stage in the Central Reserve Masterplan.

The project cost estimate is about $750,000 and Council has given in-principle support to provide matching funding, to be confirmed in next year’s budget process.
