Construction underway at the heart

Economic Development Pillar

Work on the long-awaited Bannockburn Heart Precinct has begun. Constructed over two stages, the Precinct will transform the liveability and amenity of Bannockburn and increase activity in the town centre.

Stage one of the Bannockburn Heart Precinct will create an attractive and welcoming community civic space that celebrates the region’s heritage and culture through performances and events in the centre of Bannockburn.

Residents will enjoy a new water and adventure playpark, active recreation equipment and community facilities including public toilets, seating, BBQs, shade, lighting and landscaped public space.

The precinct will create 22 jobs during construction. It will also enable an increase in community events, allow the Golden Plains Farmers’ Market to grow, increase economic activity in the town centre and encourage physical activity and positive health and wellbeing outcomes.

A fully realised Bannockburn Heart Precinct is a G21 Economic Development Pillar Project.

Golden Plains Shire is proudly delivering stage one of the project in partnership with $1.2 million from the Federal Government and $566,500 in grants from the State Government.

The project is scheduled for completion this Summer.
