Health & Wellbeing Pillar Update
A meeting of the G21 Health & Wellbeing Pillar Executive took place on February 5, 8.30 am – 10.30 am at G21.
Key focus areas:
Connected Communities – the development of an approach that addresses the issues of loneliness and social isolation that are encountered by young people (15 – 24). This funded project will clarify the role of G21 and the HWB Pillar as a key partner in this complex area.
Growing Up in G21 – the first Growing Up in G21 Report was done in 2010. Now 10 years on we will look at what’s changed – this will take the form of an on-line resource and will be an asset for early years planning.
Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) – a monitoring and evaluation framework has been developed in partnership with Deakin University and facilitator Wei Leng Kwok.
Two key pieces of work coincide with International Women’s Day – the launch of a prevention of violence toolkit and a week of celebration for the This Girl Can project. Both demonstrate the importance of a collective approach to using resources in the most efficient and effective form.
The G21 Health and Wellbeing Pillar Executive is exploring the development of a model of regional health and wellbeing planning. (refer CEO Report).
Zoe Barnett will be returning to her role as Director, G21 Health and Wellbeing in early March 2020.
