Regional Roads Victoria has opened its doors and is starting on the biggest road maintenance blitz Victoria has ever seen.

Across Geelong and the south west, more than $84 million of improvement works on roads right across the region’s 4000-kilometre arterial network are scheduled.

About $1.8 million will be spent asphalting and resurfacing 1.8 kilometres of Anglesea Road to provide a comprehensive uplift to this vital route.

This upgrade will target three sections of the road between Mt Duneed Road and Coombes Road, and follows extensive safety improvement works already underway this year.

About 2.6 kilometres of the Bellarine Highway will also be made stronger and safer thanks to around $2 million of improvement works.

Resurfacing works will also take place on about 3.5 kilometres of the Geelong Ring Road to improve the strength and longevity of this vital route, as well as damaged sections of Fyansford-Gheringhap Road and Lower Duneed Road.

Victorians will now be able to find out what works are underway or planned across the state via the new website – regionalroads.vic.gov.au
